Free weekend in Zürich

We've been busy lately preparing for the pitter patter of little feet and haven't had too many free weekends. On Friday the other half left for a week long trip to the States for work, leaving me and the bump with some time on our hands. So today I decided to go on a 1.5hr cruise on Lake Zürich.

I packed a lunch and got the tram into town, then wandered down the river to the lake, stopping for lunch at the start of the lake before getting on the boat.

A section of the river especially for swimming

I'm not sure what this was set up for but it looks like fun!

The start of the lake

The weather has been wonderful lately and today was no exception. The boat was packed and I had to sit inside, hence the reflections on the next few shots.
You know you're in Switzerland when... the ATM has a minimum withdrawal of 200chf and this much ice-cream costs 8chf!

Some Sunday fishing

Once back in Zürich, I wandered back up the river and stopped off at Grossmünster and Fraumünster churches to cool off and have a rest. The insides were not so interesting but they did have lovely stained glass windows (photos weren't allowed).

This week it's back to business as usual, with my German course (3 hours a day, 5 days a week is keeping me out of trouble), aqua yoga, original bump group meeting and new bump group meeting. Hopefully the time will go quickly and the Mr will be home in no time (with lots of treats for the bump)!
